  2. I had not realized that 94% of corporations were already using social media at this point. Social platforms are definitely the new “handshake” in business relations and I find, as someone who has been looking for unemployment, that traditional company roles are now requesting social media experience or, at the very least, familiarity with social media concepts. Understanding web marketing and Internet relations is definitely becoming a popular prerequisite for HR, advertising, marketing, and writing positions. I feel that now is the best time to jump on the wagon and learn the various aspects of social media. I mean, colleges (although not enough) are just now starting to teach social media as an entity all by itself, meaning the next wave of telecommunications is upon us.
