Even the best articles need help getting noticed so the only people reading your blog posts aren’t you and your subscribers. 4 Ways to Gain Followers on Your LinkedIn Company Page

If you’re not taking advantage of LinkedIn’s Company Pages, then you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to reach an even broader audience and further brand your business online. It’s an opportunity to share your company story, engage with a captive audience, drive word of mouth at scale and highlight your products and services. So, with that said, once you’ve created a Company Page, you need to grow your follower base to promote your company’s products and services and even recruit talent.  The good news is I’m going to give you four ways to do this. The bad news is that LinkedIn does not make this as easy as it could be by automating this process. Ultimately, doing all four of these tactics will be the most beneficial.

1. Right now, the best and only way to directly invite your connections would be to send them a direct message which would include your link (http://www.linkedin.com/company/yourcompanyname)  to your Company Page. You should also include verbiage about your company and why they should follow.

2. If you haven’t already done so, I’d suggest adding the ‘Follow Company’ button to your website. This is easy to set up and another way to grow your follower base. Find out more about how to do this here.

3. You can also add your Company Page URL (http://www.linkedin.com/company/yourcompanynamehere) to your outbound emails and all marketing communications.

4. You can create Ad campaigns to promote your Company Page and attract new followers. You can engage in advertising to promote your business, product, service, or job openings, with highly targeted, pay-for-performance ads that drive traffic back to your Company Page. 5. Make sure your company name and logo are added on your personal profile page.  If you haven’t done so already, make you you select a company from the type-ahead menu when adding a position to your profile. Your logo from the company’s page on LinkedIn will display next to the position listed on your profile. If your company doesn’t have a company page on LinkedIn, no logo will be shown. If a page is created for your company after you’ve created your position, you must edit your position and select the company from the drop down list in order to display the logo. How To Schedule Facebook Posts To Save You Time

If you’re having a hard time finding the time to craft Facebook posts to your business page or your posting sporadically, you definitely need to read on.  Take a look at how easy it is to schedule your posts right in Facebook. You can prepare a post and schedule it to appear later by adding a date and time in the future before you post it. You can schedule a post up to six months in advance in 10-minute intervals. Facebook’s instructions on how to schedule posts are as follows:

  • Once you’ve crafted your update, click the clock icon in the lower left-hand corner of the sharing tool.
  • Select the year, month, day, hour, and minute. All times correspond to the time zone the user is in at the time of this action.
  • Click schedule. It’s that easy.

Confirmation: You’ll then see a confirmation of the date and time your post is scheduled to publish. Click to view your activity log.

Activity Log: You can review or cancel any of your scheduled posts by visiting your activity log.

If you choose a date in the past, the post will appear immediately at the appropriate place on your Page’s timeline. All times correspond to the current time zone you’re in. [Infographic] 10 Tips For Writing Content That Ranks in 2013


According to an infographic from ContentVerve.com, Google actually prefers natural-sounding content. Guess what? People do too. So, instead of writing content that is packed with a bunch of keywords crammed together, write copy that uses keywords naturally. This, along with some other tips from this infographic, will help you get a higher Google page ranking and turn your readers into customers. And that, my friends, is the whole point. Quality content + smart marketing = conversions.

[Infographic] 5 Ways To Make Your Linkedin Profile Irresistible


download (2)A positive online presence is critical to any professional’s life, whether you’re a job seeker or secure in your current position. Professional networking sites like LinkedIn offer something that may not be fully available on other platforms: the ability to  show off your work history, accomplishments and even your personality. Sure, you can always list the jobs you’ve had or where you went to school on other networks, however, LinkedIn provides an avenue for all professionals that just doesn’t compare to other sites. LinkedIn currently has more than 238 million members worldwide in over 200 countries, executives from all 2013 Fortune 500 companies as members and its corporate talent solutions are used by 90 of the Fortune 100 companies. It is the social network to be on if you want visibility and a channel for extreme networking capabilities.

With that said, if you want to make the most of your LinkedIn profile, here are a few suggestions taken from the infographic created by Nando Rodriguez, Social@Ogilvy.

  1. Keywords in your profile – if recruiters  can’t find you, they won’t hire you! If a recruiter is looking to fill a sales position and you are an expert networker, revenue-driving sales leader and you don’t highlight that in your profile, you aren’t showing up in search results. Those keywords should be organically scattered throughout your profile. Creativity is good when changing the template headline but don’t get too creative with wording. Trust me, no one will be searching for Marketing Guru or Sales Ninja.
  2. Who do you want to be seen as? People will sum up your personal brand in seconds. Make sure yours clearly defines who you are and is reflected on your profile and on your resume. Your resume should not tell a different story than your LinkedIn profile.
  3. Tell us your story – story telling is story selling as we all know. This tells potential employers that you strategically aimed for a particular career.
  4. Use A Professional Profile Photo. Let’s face it. People will judge you by your photo. In case you’re not sure what I’m talking about, here’s some suggestions of what not to do. No selfies. No photobombs. No family shots. No alcohol. No group shots. Keep your clothes on. Yes, I’ve seen a half-naked person. I’m not kidding. Don’t wear anything you wouldn’t wear to work. You get the idea. Rather, have a professional take your photo. Uncross your arms. Smile. Look friendly.  Stand in front of a colored wall, or Photoshop one in, so your profile will stand out amongst the rest. Ask your photographer to give you a couple that are edited so you can update your profile every once in a while. It’s a good thing to keep your profile fresh.

  5. Customize Your LinkedIn URL. This will take you seconds to optimize and will look great in your email signature. Also, use this on your resume. [Infographic] Linkedin Boasts 3 Million Company Pages~Congrats!


linkedin heart imageAccording to their official blog, Linkedin has announced yet another milestone, more than three million Company Pages. This includes a half-million just in the past 12 months! Here’s a few highlights:

  • Company branding efforts, such as Inside looks and interviews, draw the most engagement.
  • Employment branding and Career Opportunity updates also get the most action.
  • There are 4,000 think tanks on LinkedIn.
  • Over 1,000 pages focus on nanotechnology.
  • There are 490 company names with the words “Ninja,” “Pirate,” or “Samurai.”
  • Mashable has the most engaged follower community on Linkedin.

Klout Rolls Out An Updated Dashboard With A Fresh Design and Layout


Today I logged into Klout to find a notification that the dashboard has a new design and layout so I thought I would share the updates with you. Conveniently featured on the left side navigation, your networks offer direct information through drop-down lists. Definitely easier to find. Graphs on how your Klout score is evolving are now located at the top part of your Score Activity list. I’ve also heard through the grapevine that Klout has been busy sending out email notifications to businesses that are being given beta access to Klout for Business. I have not personally been given access so I’m curious to see what Klout will have in store for business owners. Like it or not, people influence people in the real-world everyday. Klout digs deep into social media to understand how people influence each other, so that everyone can discover and be recognized for how they influence the world. You can use the Klout Score to understand how influential you are; you can use your topics to reflect what you are influential about; and you can be recognized for your influence by receiving +K from friends or Perks from brands. The Klout Score measures a person’s overall online influence on a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the most influential. Klout’s system analyzes multiple social networks based on your engagement. It is the number in the orange box on your profile. If you don’t have a  Klout score and would like one, you can visit Klout’s homepage and simply click either the “Sign in with Twitter” or “Connect with Facebook” buttons. Klout currently uses Facebook and Twitter as the base of your account. As for now, you must have a Twitter or Facebook to sign up. You will be asked to authorize Klout to read your social network data and you’ll be presented with the option to add other accounts including Twitter, Google +, and more to Klout. Once you’ve completed registration with Klout, a Score will generate for you in about 48 hours.
